Administrative Assistant-Mrs. Sheila Pelleboer

 

Mrs. Pelleboer has been the secretary of SCCS since September 1998. She graduated from Humber College with a diploma in Medical Secretary and has taken several computer courses as well.

Junior Kindergarten-Mrs. Megan From

 

Mrs. From is in her second year of teaching.  She attended Kawartha Lakes Bible College and completed the First Year Biblical Studies program.  After completing this program, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Religion & Cultures and her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior Division), at Nipissing University.  Since graduating, she has also completed additional qualification courses in Special Education and Mathematics.  She has her Ontario Teaching Certification.

Mrs. Marcella Grasman

 

Marcella Grasman is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Physical Education.  She also completed her E.C.E. at Sheridan College.  She is assisting Mrs. From with the Junior Kindergarten  Program.

                  

Senior Kindergarten-Mrs. Shelley Berg

 

Mrs. Berg is a graduate of Redeemer College with a Bachelor of Arts degree (French major, English minor) and a Bachelor of Christian Education degree. She has a Christian School Teaching Certificate.  She taught in Toronto for 8 years and in Wallaceburg for 1 year, before coming to SCCS.

Grade One-Mrs. Diane Schelhaas

 

Mrs. Schelhaas completed her teacher training at Redeemer University College and Calvin College. She graduated with a B.A. in Education. She taught Grade 1 for 3 years in Toronto area, before moving into the Strathroy area. Here at SCCS, she filled in numerous maternity leaves (Gr. 5-8 French and Music, Gr. 4 and Kindergarten) and did some Occasional Teaching before taking on Grade One.

Grade Two-Mrs. Jeanette Dykstra

 

Mrs. Dykstra completed her teaching degree from Calvin College with minors in Fine Arts, Social Studies and in elementary studies.  She taught for one year in Fairview, Alberta before coming to SCCS.  She holds a B.A. in Education with an Ontario Teaching Certificate and a Christian School Teaching Certificate. 

Grade Three-Miss Joan Alexander

 

Miss Alexander attended Huron College at the University of Western Ontario and received her Bachelor of Education Degree to qualify for an Ontario Teacher's Certificate. She has completed several additional qualifications and numerous professional development opportunities, including a Bible College diploma and a Christian School Teacher's Certificate.

Grade Four-Mrs. Jean Verburg

 

Mrs. Verburg completed her teacher training at Redeemer Univeristy College and Calvin College.  She graduated with a B.A. in Education.  Mrs. Verburg has her Onatrio Teacher's Certificate and Christian School Teaching Certificate.

Grade Four-Mrs. Heidi Thuss

 

Mrs. Thuss graduated from Redeemer College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Christian Education degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree (English major). She previously taught in Wyoming, Ontario.  She has a Christian School Teacher's Certificate.

Grade Five-Mrs. Margaret Terpstra

 

Mrs. Terpstra graduated with a B.A. from York University and a B. Ed. from UWO in London.  She has her Ontario Teacher's Certificate.  She began her teaching career at London Christian Elementary School where she taught grades Six and Seven.  At SCCS she has taught grades five through eight, as well as Resource.

Grade Six / Art, Vice Principal -Mr. Jonathan DeVries

 

Mr. DeVries has a Bachelor of Arts from Redeemer University College with a major in Art and a minor in History. He received his teaching degree from the University of Western Ontario.  He has an Ontario Teacher's Certificate and a Christian School Teacher's Certificate.  Mr. DeVries started his career in Drayton, ON where he taught Grade Eight for two years before coming to SCCS.

Grade Seven -Ms. Julie Reitsma

 

Miss Reitsma is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology.  She attended Redeemer University College where she received her Bachelor of Education. She has a Christian School Teacher's Certificate, an Ontario Teaching Certificate and has taught in schools in Wellandport and Toronto.

Grade Eight-Mr. Kevin Wolting

 

Mr. Wolting attended University of Western Ontario and completed an Honours BSC in Kinesiology, as well as a B.Ed degree. He has been actively involved in coaching at SCCS and has also filled the role of Computer Coordinator.

French and Music-Mrs. Natalie deSchiffert

 

Mrs. deSchiffert received her B.A. from Calvin College with a Major in Language Arts.  She teaches Music and French in Grades Five through Eight.

Resource Teacher-Mrs. Margherita Bierling

 

Mrs. Bierling graduated from Redeemer University College where she received her BA and Bachelor of Christian Education. She also has her Ontario Christian Teacher’s Certificate. She taught at John Knox Christian School in Woodstock before coming to SCCS and has taken Special Education Courses and other workshops since graduating.

 

Educational Assistant -Ms. Denise Kaemingh

 

Ms. Kaemingh graduated from the Stratford Institute where she completed the Early Childhood Education program and the Education Assistant program.  She gained experience as a volunteer in the Rainy River District School Board.  She works with students from JK to Grade 8.
