WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?
Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. and dismissal is at 3:10 p.m.
DO YOU OFFER FULL-TIME KINDERGARTEN?
SCCS offers an optional full-time program to supplement the Junior and Senior Kindergarten (JK and SK) program. JK and SK run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The optional program is called "4, 5, Thrive" and runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is designed to allow parents to send their children to SCCS for up to five days a week. There is an additional cost to this supplemental program.
IS TRANSPORTATION AN ADDITIONAL EXPENSE?
No. Bussing is included in tuition.
WHAT IF WE LIVE OUTSIDE OF STRATHROY?
SCCS isn't just for students who live in Strathroy-Caradoc. Most of our students are bussed in from outside of the municipality.
WHAT IF WE LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE ESTABLISHED BUS ROUTES?
The bus routes are somewhat flexible from year to year but it may be necessary to drive your child to an agreed upon pickup point.
WHAT CURRICULUM MATERIALS DO YOU USE?
Our curriculum resources come from a variety of sources. The majority of our material comes from the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools and Christian School International. The remainder comes from a variety of both Christian and non-Christian sources.
HOW DOES YOUR CURRICULUM COMPARE WITH THE ONTARIO PUBLIC OR SEPARATE SCHOOLS?
Our curriculum provides a strong foundation for every student at SCCS. The Ontario Ministry of Education released a document entitled Growing Success (2010) which SCCS's curriculum meets and sometimes exceeds. We strive to align our expectations to ministry expectations so as to provide quality, Christ-centred education integrated in a Christian world view.
ARE YOUR TEACHERS ACCREDITED?
Yes. All of our teachers are accredited and licensed teachers. All of our teachers are members of the Ontario College of Teachers.
DOES YOUR SCHOOL RECEIVE ANY GOVERNMENT FUNDING?
No. We do not receive government funding for the education we provide.
DO YOU HAVE A FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM?

ARE YOU ASSOCIATED WITH A PARTICULAR CHURCH OR DENOMINATION?
No. SCCS is an independent, non-denomination Christian school with students from 30 churches.
WHO OPERATES YOUR SCHOOL?
SCCS is an independent Christian elementary school. It is owned and operated by the Strathroy Community Christian School Society, a registered Canadian charity which is governed by a school board, elected from supporting parent and community members. The school is funded by the membership and its supporting community.
ARE THE SCHOOL FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR RENTING?
Yes. The gymnasium is available to rent for a variety of functions. Tables and chairs are available to use as well as the kitchen. For further information on availability and rental fees, please contact the school office.
DO YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE?
The dress code at SCCS is based on Christian standards of modesty and neatness. This policy is enforced by the principal and approved by the Board of Directors.
DOES YOUR SCHOOL HAVE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES?
Yes. SCCS offers a band program for students in Grades 5 to 8. Sports activities include soccer, badminton, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field.
